2025 Summer Read Plus: “Color Our World” program is made up of a Reading Challenge, crafting events, games and other activities to enhance the colorful fun of the Summer. The program will run for six weeks, starting June 28 ending August 9. The 2025 Summer Read Plus: ”Color Our World” is centered around our Reading Challenge. During the summer many of us get so wrapped up in the activities of the summer and we stop doing other activities. One such activity is reading for fun. During the fall, winter and spring young people are encouraged to read while in school. To help encourage young people to read the library challenges all ages to read for 1200 minutes (20 hours) over six weeks. All ages can earn free books and tickets for raffles that are pulled at the end of the six weeks. We do have a few special raffles halfway through the challenge. Young people will also earn brag tags to keep track of their progress. The reading challenge is open to all ages including adults and seniors. We include all ages so our young people will see adults reading and enjoying reading for fun. So, everyone should take on the reading challenge and encourage others to read for fun.
We will have drop-in events for kids, and adults are welcome to participate on Thursday afternoons from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Teen and adult programming will happen during the six weeks. Check our events calendar for days and time. We will be doing the Murder Mystery Dinner and a Paint and Sip for teens and adults again, plus other events.
