Pre-K through Senior High school are encouraged to get through the winter blues by reading with a buddy. Stuffed friends are available for adoption at the Benedek Memorial Library starting February 19, through March 9, 2024. Each child who adopts a reading buddy will pledge to read for 14 hours, or 840 minutes, over 4 weeks. The Reading Challenge starts February 19, and runs through March 15 with a celebration and prize drawings on March 16 at 12 pm. Participants will be able to earn raffle tickets, brag tags, and free books.

Earn rewards for your reading:

Raffle tickets awarded for every two hours of reading. Raffle tickets will also be awarded for attendance at any of the programs held during the reading challenge.

Books will be earned at the adoption, seven hours of reading time, and at completion of the challenge.

Brag tags awarded at the beginning of the challenge; then on reading hours of 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 14. Brag tags awarded until gone.

Please go to the Benedek Memorial Library with your children to sign up for the reading challenge and to adopt a reading buddy to share books with. Then have the children track their reading times. If you need more reading logs click here:
