
June 27th: 12:00 pm – 2026 Summer Read Plus: “Unearth a Story” Sign-Up Party! Come to the Library and enjoy a hot dog cook out while signing up for the Reading Challenge. The Reading Challenge is open to all ages. There will be games for all to have fun with, including a mini golf game. Check out all of the upcoming events and be able to reserve your spot in your favorite events.
June 27 – July 25 – Coloring Contest – When you sign-up for the Reading Challenge you will receive a coloring page for the Coloring Contest. If you lose your page, you can still pick one up at the library. All coloring pages need to be turned in by July 25 for voting. Voting July 27 – August 5.

June 29 – July 10 Dino Trivia Quiz – open to young people 7 – 17 years old. Test your knowledge in a Dino Trivia Quiz. All questions are multiple choice. Winners in each age group (7-12 yr. olds, 13-17 yr. olds).

July 2, 4:00 – 6 pm – Drop in Crafts – Young people (and adults) can drop in to try your hand at Shrinky Dinks! While supplies last. All are welcome.
July 4 – Library is closed due to 4th of July holiday. The Board of Trustees and staff wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday.
July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and Aug. 5: 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Join the Creative Community – To encourage creativity and community all are welcome to participate in a weekly sketchbook practice at the library. Bring your sketchbook, journal, coloring book, or junk journal and enjoy an evening being creative and sharing with others. You can work on your own project or participate in a group project. There will be some art supplies available to try along with tips and tricks for being creative. All are encouraged to share ideas and techniques with each other.

July 10, 5:00-8:00 pm Teen/Adult Paint & Sip Dinner, Enjoy a simple dinner while painting an acrylic painting, with Director Candy. Registration requested due to limited seats available. July 11, 18, 25, Aug. 1 and 8 – 9:30 am – 10:30 am – Coffee Hour! Free coffee and pastries will be available. Enjoy the company of others. There will be cards, newspapers and of course books for all to enjoy together, or just sit and visit. Meet old friends and make new friends.
July 11, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm – Macrame Plant Hanger for Teens and Adults. Try your hand at creating a plant hanger using the art of macrame. Fun and easy to do. Registration is required. Space is limited. List of supplies you will need to bring will be given to you when you register for the class. July 18, 11:00 – 12:30 pm – Build a mini terrarium for a dinosaur friend. Open to all ages, 8-year-olds and under will need a parent or guardian to assist them. . Registration is required. July 19, 4 pm – 7 pm – An Afternoon of Free Music with the Sam Pallet Band! Save the date! The Savona Community Events Committee will host the event with music from the Sam Pallet Band, on the lawn of the Benedek Memorial Library. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy some music on the library lawn. There will be a 50/50 raffle drawing. Proceeds goes to the Savona Community Events Committee to help fund other community event throughout the year.

July 20 – 25 – Drop in to the library and try to build a dinosaur skeleton. There will be foam dinosaur bones available for all ages to try and build a dinosaur skeleton. You can take a picture of your creation if you have a camera.
July 23, 4:00 – 6 pm – Drop in Crafts – Young people (and adults) can drop in to try your hand at scratch art of a dinosaur! While supplies last. All are welcome.
July 24, 6-8 pm – Murder Mystery Dinner – Open to young adults and adults. Come, enjoy a great home cooked dinner, and solve a mystery. Take on a character and try to figure out which of your dinner mates was the murderer(s). Dressing in costumes is encouraged, but not required. Registration is required, to get a character to play. The Library will be closing early for the program.
July 25, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Creating at the Library – Memory Wire Bracelet for teens and adults! We will have supplies for memory wire bracelets for our teens and adults. Excellent opportunity to see if this is a craft you would enjoy. Registration is requested due to limited supplies. July 27 – August 1 – Dinosaur Egg Search! Kids search for a dino egg and break it open to find a treasure inside. One egg per visit please. While eggs last. Don’t forget to vote on the coloring contest all week!

July 31, 6:30 – 8:30 pm – Family Movie Night! The original Jurassic Park! The library will show the first movie that started the Jurassic series: Jurassic Park, on their 6-foot screen. There will be drinks and popcorn provided. How many times does the t-rex roar? Come and find out.
Aug. 1, 11:00 – 12:30 pm – Create a Toad House! Open to all ages including adults. Stop in at the library to create a toad house to take home for your garden. While supplies last.

August 7 is the last day to be able to turn in reading times for raffle tickets. Please stop into the library between 2 pm and 6 pm to get the last of your reading time confirmed. Thank you.
August 8, 12 pm – Make Your Own Sundae Ending Party! Come and create your best ice cream sundae and see the raffle prizes pulled. All reading times must be recorded by August 7 at the Library to get a raffle ticket. No raffle tickets will be awarded at the ending party.
